What makes a Good Life?

Our role at Lorica Partners is to help people live their best possible life.  Each of us requires many inputs to achieve this.  Our input is to prepare you for, and lead you through, major life transitions like preparing to exit the workforce, selling a business, or sadly, loss of a spouse or your own passing.

These matters are important, but no guarantee of your long-term happiness.

So, what does contribute to a happy and healthy life?

The 75-year running Harvard Study of Adult Development is the longest study on happiness. It has tracked 724 men since they were boys in the 1930s.

We recommend watching this 12-minute video that explains the results of the study (so far) - Robert Waldinger, Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, is certainly an entertaining speaker:

If you want to skip straight to the answer, the study found strong relationships to be far and away the strongest predictor of life satisfaction, and better predictors of long and happy lives than social class, wealth, fame, IQ, or even genes.
